Friends of Music has given Hedgesville Middle School a $350 grant to help cover the cost of a set of Snark tuners for its music classes.
"Snark tuners are used to tune guitars, strings, or any type of plucking instrument," explained music teacher Savannah Hochberg, who requested the grant. "The tuners have really helped our classroom routine this year. All my orchestra classes (6th-8th grade) use these tuners during the first five minutes of class every day. It is important that string students learn how to tune and how to fix their strings without depending on me."
